New Poll!
First Person Narrative
Once you've read the excerpt and discovered a book that sounds promising is written in first person, are you still likely to buy it? Or do books in first person turn you off?
I write all my romances in third person, but I sometimes write my horror in first, because I feel it gets the reader "closer to the blood", per se.
Please tell me what you think. Poll closes next Saturday. Thanks!

Given the choice, I avoid books written in the first person. Even more odd, I recently read a book that was written in the present tense. I found that much of my time was spent getting past the technique before I could enjoy the story.
You're kidding! Present tense? You're a braver man than I am, Gunga Din! I don't think I could even start reading a book in present tense!
