Notice of Email Deletion and Website Switch Re: Carolyn Gregg, and Other Updates
Just letting everyone know of some changes coming soon regarding my Carolyn Gregg pseudonym.
First off, I will be deleting that email account, and posting my Linda Mooney email in its place. That will save me having to go back and forth between accounts.
Secondly, I will be moving my CG website over to the same server my Linda Mooney site is on. This will be done gradually, and there will be no interruptions or breaks. When everything has been transferred over, the CarolynGregg .com website will be deleted.
However, in the meantime, if you see a book listed on the site (or on my Linda Mooney or Gail Smith site), but it doesn't take you to a webpage, OR if the webpage looks "incomplete", it's because I have regained my rights to that book from the publisher. Hence, I am in the process of getting the book re-edited, a new cover made, an ISBN assigned to it, and having it converted over to several ebook formats so it can be re-released.
Just keeping y'all updated!

They were the Guardians, sixteen
special men and women with incredible powers who had sworn their
lives to the protection of their galaxy, while upholding the
laws of their world.
It was a world that, eons ago, had suffered a
devastating plague that had rendered more than half its
population unable to reproduce. As a result, in order to assure
the survival of their species, the HandFast law was enacted.
Every month, twenty couples were drawn by lottery. Couples whose
sole purpose would then be procreation, the continuation of the
species. For the length of one year, two complete strangers
would follow the edicts of the HandFast, until the woman
conceived. Once that was accomplished, the couple was no longer
bound to each other, and they could go their separate ways while
the child was given to a couple unable to bear children.
It was a cold and impersonal law, but it worked.
However, the Guardians were exempt from having their names drawn in the lottery. The very nature of their jobs, risking their lives day in and day out to protect their galaxy, precluded any thought of bearing children.
Which was why, when StarLight and Master Hunter heard their names called out to be HandFasted, their neat, orderly lives were turned upside-down. Gone was the comfortable companionship they'd known. Gone was the brother-sister working relationship and the friendship.
Now they would be forced into an intimacy neither had wanted, nor expected.
Neither would they be prepared for the overwhelming passion they would find in each other's bodies, as well as in their hearts.

And things would only get more complicated and dangerous.
Because their names had been
deliberately placed on the lottery, and the drawing had not been
a fluke. Instead, it was the first step in destroying their
world and every Guardian living.

Camera Stabilizing Tech Used in Spoon For Parkinsons
I love this. The same technology used to stabilize cameras (called Steadycams) and keep them from jostling while filming is now being used in spoons and forks for Parkinsons sufferers, so that they can have an easier time eating.

Barbaric Dark Realm warfare threatens to overtake all Dragonspeir lands,
including the Alliance. Lyra McCauley, the fifth Scribe of the Alliance, finds
herself in a desperate competition to gather four missing keystones. Those
amulets of the four natural elements guarantee victory for the side possessing
them. The Dark Realm’s alchemist, Eburscon, beats her to finding the water gem,
the Pearl of Pendola. Three more keystones remain: the fluorite containing
earth energy, the moonstone of the sky, and the fiery, dangerous Emtori Ruby.
The powerful gems, stolen centuries ago, channel astral energies and can
restore much-needed Alliance power—the last hope. The wizard, Cullen, who is
Lyra’s beloved, relies on Alliance magic for his immortality and will perish if
the land falls to the Dark Realm.
Lyra uses her rare magical energies of quintessence and the Staurolite,
governor of the four natural elements, to guide her to the
hidden keystones. However, greed and power drive opponents, who challenge
her in close pursuit, planning to destroy the Alliance, or to claim the power
of quintessence for themselves.
The Dark Realm captures the ten-year-old Alliance seer, Kessa. Her
abilities can give them information about the locations of the keystones,
complicating Lyra’s plans. Will her love, allegiance, and quintessence allow
her to save Cullen, Kessa, and the Alliance before the Dark Realm claims all of
Dragonspeir?

Blog Lovin'!
North American Word Cat blogged about Deadly Women, especially about "Best Romance Heroines Who Can Defend Themselves". I am overwhelmed and surprised that she chose Atty in The Battle Lord Lady as one of her favorite women archers. I was also moved to tears by some of the comments that followed.
Thank you, Cat!

A Maldives Beach Awash in Bioluminescent Phytoplankton Looks Like an Ocean of Stars
While vacationing on the Maldives Islands, Taiwanese photographer Will Ho stumbled onto an incredible stretch of beach covered in millions of bioluminescent phytoplankton. These tiny organisms glow similarly to fireflies and tend to emit light when stressed, such as when waves crash or when they are otherwise agitated. While the phenomenon and its chemical mechanisms have been known for some time, biologists have only recently began to understand the reasons behind it. You can see a few more of Ho’s photographs over on Flickr.

It's a New Release and Giveaway tonight on "Other Worlds of Romance" on Blog Talk Radio! I'll be reading from my best-selling sensuously erotic sci-fi romance novel, VALL'S WILL, and one lucky listener will win a copy!

A Nion warrior never kills. Never. But this time, she may have to destroy the man she loves.
They found him chained in the depths of an enemy ship. Half-starved, beaten, and abused in more ways than anyone could ever imagine, the man still exhibited a strength of character that impressed his deliverers, including Captain Willis Tayte.
Something about this one, whom his captors called Vall, tugged at her heart. It was too bad she wouldn't have the chance to explore the exciting new feelings he brought to her when she was around him. Her orders were to deliver him to the nearest Regency base, where it would be determined what species he belonged to, and then be indoctrinated into his new life of freedom. He would be returned home, and Will would go back to her ship.
At least, that was the plan, until a ship of unknown origin suddenly appears from out of nowhere and demands Vall in exchange for her life and the lives of millions more. It isn't until she finally discovers Vall's true identity that Will realizes how special he is to keeping balance in the Universe. And how special she has become to him.
Warning! Contains baldness for women, explosions, abandonment, a miracle survival, and the decision to kill the only person she will ever love.

A Startling Outcome
Here is a Science fair project presented by a girl in a secondary school in Sussex. In it she took filtered water and divided it into two parts. The first part she heated to boiling in a pan on the stove, and the second part she heated to boiling in a microwave. Then after cooling she used the water to water two identical plants to see if there would be any difference in the growth between the normal boiled water and the water boiled in a microwave.
She was thinking that the structure or energy of the water may be compromised by microwave. As it turned out, even she was amazed at the difference, after the experiment which was repeated by her class mates a number of times and had the same result.
It has been known for some years that the problem with microwaved anything is not the radiation people used to worry about, it’s how it corrupts the DNA in the food so the body can not recognize it.
Microwaves don’t work different ways on different substances. Whatever you put into the microwave suffers the same destructive process. Microwaves agitate the molecules to move faster and faster. This movement causes friction which denatures the original make-up of the substance. It results in destroyed vitamins, minerals, proteins and generates the new stuff called radiolytic compounds, things that are not found in nature.
So the body wraps it in fat cells to protect itself from the dead food or it eliminates it fast. Think of all the mothers heating up milk in these "safe" appliances. What about the nurse in Canada that warmed up blood for a transfusion patient and accidentally killed him when the blood went in dead.
The makers say it’s safe but proof is in the pictures of living plants dying.

4.5 Star Review for BEAST OF THE BAYOU
Thierry’s brother is missing and she is determined to find him. She will do whatever she can to do so. So she employs the help of Antonio and sparks fly instantly. Antonio will do everything for Thierry. Thierry soon develops feelings for him but Antonio has a secret. In fact all of his friends do too. They are all shifters each a different species. Will they find her brother? Will Thierry accept Antonio even after learning his secret?
I loved Beast of the Bayou. I really did. I loved it from beginning to end. I loved the different point of views. I wished the book was longer so I could enjoy it more. I was so sad when it ended. The book was full of action. I read the book in one sitting. I couldn’t get enough of it.
Thierry was so determined to find her brother. I liked that she never gave up. I really liked her character a lot. She was a strong female lead but I was surprised when she mentioned her fear. I never would have expected what it would be. I have to say it was a new twist since I’ve never read a shifter story like that. Antonio was such a sweetheart. I liked him a lot. I couldn’t get enough of him. I liked all his friends, too. They were so funny. I want to see them find their mates. I liked their interactions with each other. I couldn’t get enough.
Overall, I think Linda wrote an amazing story and now she is on my watch list for shifter romances. I really loved this book. I do hope there will be more books starring Antonio’s friends. I don’t want it to end at all. I loved their characters so much. I highly recommend this book if you love shifter romances.
