rude comments about an obviously pregnant server. She’s curious

that server. She
wasn’t expecting the remarks she heard regarding the sweet

about the baby’s father does seem a little…out there.
When Cecily returns the next night for
dinner and learns that the pregnant waitress, Eva, has been let
go, she feels sorry for the girl and comes up with a possible
solution. She offers the woman a job at the store where she is

It’s supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year, but Leyland Scott is down in the dumps. It’s his first Christmas since losing his mom, it’s possible his job of over twenty years is about to be axed, and he just can’t find it in himself to care about anything really. Except for one thing—Lynette who works at the coffee shop. She’s the only bright spot in his day.
Lynette is fairly new in town, having made the move to the big city a few months ago to find herself. She’s struggling to make ends meet but she’s determined to prove she can make it. During that short time, she’s become interested in Leyland, who frequents the coffee shop. And when he finally asks her out, she’s skeptical at first but agrees, only to discover she’s happy she did.
The two have a common concern when they hear the wildly enthusiastic, if a bit (all right, a lot) out of tune Christmas carols being belted out by an underdressed kid wearing angel wings and no shoes. It’s freezing outside, with snow covering the ground, but the boy appears unfazed and continues merrily singing his heart out in front of passersby. No one knows who the kid is, but Harold, as they end up naming him, seems to know them all.
Normally not a religious man, Leyland has a change in spirit. The angel boy seems to deliver a message, letting him know this is his opportunity for a fresh start. He’s told when one door closes, another door opens. Perhaps God, with the help of Harold, has opened that door. If that’s true, Leyland is ready to go through it with Lynette.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Maybe it’s also time for a new beginning for them both.

Nurse Ivy Domberg,
along with the rest of the world, watched as the Magellan spacecraft launched
into space for a top-secret mission to the moon. She would miss her husband
while he was gone, but he’d be back before she knew it.
No one expected those two short weeks to turn into years.
The day the spaceship disappeared, Earth was hit with a blinding light, and
life hasn’t been the same since. Every female is now sterile, human and
creatures alike. Insects, reptiles, fish, and birds are becoming extinct. Same
for all animals as none of them are able to reproduce. Meat, eggs, and milk, as
well as grain and vegetable crops, are growing scarce. It’s only a matter of
time before the world’s population is completely wiped from the face of the
Earth, either from starvation, old age, or both.
During this time, Ivy refused to believe her astronaut husband Skeet was dead.
But when the Magellan inexplicably returns with its crew somehow alive, is it a
coincidence alien ships are spotted on the same day? Were the aliens
responsible for their disappearance, as well as the chaos on Earth?
Even as a possible interstellar war looms on the horizon, Ivy’s nurse instincts
kick in when she discovers a lone creature lying near a road. A creature not
from Earth. A creature who appears to have just given birth. Seeing the infant,
Ivy can’t ignore the alien’s plight, no matter the species. Regardless of the
devastation they may have brought to the planet, a mother’s love for her baby
is universal.
And it just might save the world.
Warning! Contains a jar of eggs, a devastating loss, plant-based meat,
paying in cash, fake hot chocolate, and two people whose love and resilience
give them the hope and faith they need to survive.
A life for a life. When one is gone,
another is promised to take its place.
Unexpected visitors with an
invitation to a horse sale and auction from an unknown battle lord
piques Yulen D’Jacques’ interest. The opportunity to renew their
horses’ bloodlines is too good to pass up, although he knows the
trek will be long and dangerous.
Yulen worries Atty isn’t yet up to
the trip, but she refuses to let him go without her, even if that
means leaving the children behind. The decision is a hard one, but
they won’t risk Mattox and Mistelle’s lives along with their own.
Although Bloods are still a threat, along with any number of other
creatures, they plan to make a few stops and hopefully pick up some
allies along the way, both Mutah and Normal.
The scenes they stumble upon along
the way are vicious. Entire settlements have been slaughtered,
soldiers mutilated. And just when the group think they’ve made it to
the safety of the compound for the sale, they learn that Normals can
be more brutal than Bloods. The new battle lord is anti-Mutah, and
when his plot to take advantage of his visitors comes to light,
Yulen won’t stand for it.
Ghosts from Yulen’s past also
resurface, bringing a secret to light. Can Yulen and Atty work
through it? Will he be able to step up and do what’s right? Of
course he will. It’s what a good battle lord would do. And it’s time
to teach everyone else that lesson.
It has been raining for days on end all over the world. The inundation is causing blackouts, severe flooding, homes going underwater, as well as entire coastal towns disappearing.
When will it stop?
Wylie Barraga and his
dad, Cesar, are hoping for the best but planning for the
inevitable, packing up whatever supplies they can find
and readying their bass boat to launch. When Wylie’s
girlfriend, Gwen, and her sister, Harper, call for help,
Wylie and Cesar come to the rescue. Before long, water
starts filling the house, and the group knows it’s time
to head for higher ground.
Supplies are dwindling and becoming harder to find with everything submerged in the quickly rising water. Emergencies bring out the worst in people, and it doesn’t take long until it becomes survival of the fittest. But people have to work together to survive, and there are a few good ones left, ready to band together and look out for each other.
Who can they trust?
Finding
themselves on yet another new part of the half-world, Kyber and the crew
need to escape quickly or risk death, but he can’t find it in himself to
care anymore. His Kelen is gone.
The group is
tired, both Terrans and Seneecians. Tired of fighting. Tired of running.
Tired of struggling to survive. They have nothing left to give. But if
there’s even the tiniest of chances that Kelen is still alive, Kyber
will stop at nothing to find her.
Giving up hope on ever escaping, the
crew decides on a new strategy—survive, learn as much as they can, and
hopefully help anyone who may crash there in the future. With new
friends and allies, and new information, there just may be hope yet.
The adventure is almost over.
Warning! Contains warmth by furries,
death by furries, identification by old Earth code, bowls as weapons,
soapy sand, planet-wide monitoring, and a love that will carry two
people through tragedy and despair, to the possibility of rescue.

Megan Kolt has been trapped, a prisoner
in her own body, for the past six years. Her husband, Turner Kolt, has
watched her slowly waste away in a coma, but he’s been assured her brain
is functioning and she still has her senses. When offered a chance for
his wife to live vicariously through someone else through a fairly new
service from Rall Rentals, he wants to let his wife
experience…something. Anything.
Wanting to use her own life to help
others, Jory Wittenhouse applies for the Rall Rentals program to allow
others who are less fortunate to live through her. After vigorous
testing, she’s approved and given a special case, not the usual disabled
or handicapped client. The renter is completely comatose and paralyzed,
but still reacts to stimuli.
She’s told the woman’s family wants her to spend whatever time
she has left being happy, and Jory wants to give her that.
Turner has his reservations, and
questions are raised. He proposes the opportunity to meet the rental, if
she’s willing, to put his own mind at ease, under the guise of letting
Megan see his face one last time. He wasn’t expecting her to be perfect.
For Megan, that is.
He wants Megan to experience what it’s
like to be alive again, to be loved, and that’s why he’s attracted to
Jory. Because Megan is in there somewhere, or so he’s trying to convince
himself to ease the guilt. But as much as he wants Megan to live again,
Turner isn’t living himself.
Time and love will make that decision
for him.
Confined in a small shipping
container for weeks on end, Taru was starving, dehydrated, and
close to death. When she was given the option of remaining in
the container until her owner could turn her in for the reward,
or being one of fifteen females going to a mining moon to
pleasure the drillers who were willing to pay for her services,
she chose the latter. At least there was the possibility she
could escape from there and get back with her people.
Kirby Luka agreed to pay the
astronomical sum to have his own woman, if only to have a
companion. Someone to talk to and maybe to share a bed with. He
never expected to have to contend with having to take the last
female in the group. What was left over. A female Gyra who not
only was a feared and dangerous humanoid, but a deadly enemy.
Their initial meeting is
contentious. But when a deadly disease infiltrates the close
community, Kirby knows the only way he and Taru can survive is to
get off that rock. That means working together and sacrificing
what they both wanted.
They never anticipated the
consequences of their actions.
Warning! Contains ice cream, solitary confinement, unprovoked
attacks, a virulent infection, Gyra fallakka (not Vespidan),
drooling, life for a life, and two people coming to realize that
kindness has a way of working miracles with the heart.
When a
caravan of gypsies arrives at Alta Novis, looking to make a deal,
these new visitors raise suspicions. It isn’t until the battle lord
sees what they have for sell that his concerns and reservations are
raised even more—a cannon, guns, and other weapons that haven’t been
seen in hundreds of years, and only heard about in stories these
days.
The
group isn’t happy when Yulen denies their requests, confiscates
their weapons, and sends them on their way, but not before loading
their wagons with supplies in a show of good will. But it isn’t
enough for the gypsy leader.
When one
of their own goes missing, Yulen and Atty will stop at nothing to
get the battle prince back, but at what cost? Do their swords and
arrows stand a chance against guns?
A number
of obstacles stand in their way as they go to retrieve their son,
but the connection between a Mutah mother and her child will conquer
all.
Warning! Contains figgy pastries, a
human trade, mutant bears, screamer arrows, raging hormones, coffee,
shaved chocolate, weather colder than a well digger's butt, a
parent's worst nightmare, and a son's ultimate revenge.
In
need of extra income, Dane Caravelle applies for a new program that
allows other people to “rent” her and lets them essentially live her
life. This groundbreaking scientific technology is meant to allow those
who may be disadvantaged or disabled to experience a normal life.
Although it requires rigorous testing to become a rental, Dane is
ecstatic when she’s approved.
She’s nervous in the beginning and is assured
she won’t even know when her renter is observing her unless she checks
the app, but that hasn't been her experience. Nudges here and there.
Feeling as if someone is watching her. And was that a man she saw
reflected in her eyes when she looked in the mirror? The program
promised only females would be paired with females. Who is he? Or
rather, what
is he?
The nudges turn into phone calls, then
voicemails, and she quickly learns that we’re definitely not alone in
this universe. There are others other there, other species from other
worlds, and they’re just looking to survive…or so she’s told. Despite
warnings from her friends, she agrees to help the stranger. But is this
“alien” real, or is she being led on? Either way, she discovers she’s
grown to care for him.
And that’s just the beginning of her problems.
Warning! Contains two-second voicemails, strange science, stranded aliens, a phone app, grocery shopping, once for yes - twice for no, and an improbable love that began galaxies apart.
With
threats of solar flares larger than anything ever recorded
looming, everyone on Earth is scrambling to prepare. No one
knows how severe the consequences will be. With little to no
warning, the massive flares hit, wiping out power grids, frying
everything electrical or battery-operated, and burning out most
living beings, unless you were lucky enough to be deep
underground or inside something that could withstand the
unimaginable temperatures.
In
the end, the Earth has been left in total, absolute darkness.
Having rekindled their romance after their failed marriage,
Gideon doesn’t want to be apart from D’hani, but she lives in
another town. The last time he talked to her, he vowed to come
looking for her if/when the big one hits.
Because he works for Brodwyn
Light and Power, he must stick around to help restore power when
the flares pass.
Barely escaping death, he leaves to find her, to see if she also
managed to survive, but life has been forever changed. Survival
is now reduced to scavenging for whatever food and water he can
find, and that means only the fittest or smartest will stay
alive.
But
some survivors have been reduced to savages.
Has
humanity completely turned on itself? It seems there are still a
few good ones left, though they are very few and far between. If
Gideon can find D’hani, they’re going to search for a place
where they can spend the rest of their days, however long that
may be.
Although it may be the end of the world, their
last wish is for them to be together.
Warning! Contains a natural spring, strawberry shit, a piece of porcelain and a rock, treachery, everlasting night, a dead sun, illegal stills, and two people being given a second chance at life and love.
In today’s society, vampires are
mostly accepted, though there are still those who don’t think vamps
deserve to be trusted. Truth is they’re far superior to humans in
every way, and a huge asset to the military and law enforcement.
That’s where Saoirse Bronner comes in as one of the newest vamp
officers on the force. When humans and vamps both start turning up
dead, what better way to solve the case than to have humans and
vamps working together?
Saoirse is teamed up with Detective
Jake Valenti, who has his reservations at first about working with a
vamp, but he quickly learns what an asset she is and how much he can
learn from her. But personal feelings for the vamp were not expected
at all. They adopt an honesty is the best policy approach for their
partnership, and Jake soon learns she’s not all that different—other
than the occasional need for blood to survive. And she really is far
superior to humans, both physically and for his heart.
The police are trying to prove the
lies the media is spreading about vamps isn’t true, but with the
cases all pointing to vamps as the instigators isn’t helping their
image. Tensions are high between vamps and humans, and a
relationship between Jake and Saoirse will raise issues, but their
time together could be ended before it even has time to start.
Dead vamps, dead humans, missing
blood thinners, and a shady underground group. What does it all
mean? Together, can they crack the case as well as protect their
growing feelings for each other?
Warning! Contains mugs of warm blood, a handcuff key,
hay and horse shit, mutual trust, and two people discovering the
depths of their attraction to each other, even though they're
two different species.
