Wild Costumes From European Pagan Rituals Still Practiced Today

Photographer Charles Freger has traveled through 19 European nations to gather pictures of impressive costumes from pagan rituals that have survived to this day. The series, entitled “Wilder Mann,” inspires images of an older, wilder and more tribal Europe filled with wild beasts, bonfires and pagan gods.

For anyone who's never attended a fan convention, particularly one that's about sci-fi and fantasy, one of the best parts is the costume contest.  I grabbed a few people who were in the dealers room prior and just afterwards.  Here's some of my favorites.

Here's my table, all set up and ready to go.  Note the huge bottle of vitamin water.

This dealers room has anything and everything fan, anime, fantasy, and sci-fi related.  Just take a gander at this man's stall.

Anyone need a fancy knife or kitana?

Of course, one of great things about fan cons is the costuming.  I've seen everything from Star Wars (natch), Ghostbusters, Firefly, anime characters, Dr. Who (I need to get the shot of the one running around.  He looks like a dead ringer!), and this young man.
