Book Description:
DEA agent Aliyana Montijo must stop a drug lord's killing orders and find a government mole. With a contract on her head, she trusts no one. While heading back to Florida with evidence, lightning strikes her plane. As it careens into the ocean, she thinks she sees a pirate ship. What she finds is a dashing and most unlikely ally.
Four centuries ago, Wolfaert Dircksen Van Ness captained a vessel for the Dutch West Indies Company. Then an unearthly storm in the Bermuda Triangle blew him into a parallel dimension. After rescuing Aliyana from a similar tempest, he finds himself drawn to the courageous beauty and wants to aid her mission.
In the midst of danger, the two find themselves falling in love. Then a misunderstanding tears them apart, perhaps forever…
Excerpt:
About a half an
hour before sunset, the unease she had carried for the past several hours
turned into a sudden feeling of dread. Panic overtook all rational thought and
settled into her soul. Something terrible had happened. She raced toward her
supplies and grabbed her backpack. Her fingers shook as she unzipped the bag
and yanked out her phone. She called Greg’s number several times over before it
dawned on her that he had already boarded a plane headed for Colombia. She
wouldn’t be able to contact him until the morning.
Despite all
attempts to banish it, the dread grew stronger with each passing hour. A
growing notion that Wolf and his crew never left the sub took firm hold. The
conscientious men of the Wieven could very well have remained behind to ensure
that all went according to plan. The thought of such an occurrence made her
sick to her stomach. What if they could die as she had always feared? What if
they died in that sub along with Mercado’s men? She couldn’t sleep, and she
couldn’t eat. All throughout the long hours of the night, she restlessly paced
along the shore, waiting, hoping, and praying.
By the time the
gloomy morning arrived, what little hope she’d carried throughout the long
night dissipated. Somewhere in her heart, she finally accepted that her beloved
captain wouldn’t be coming for her. Not now. Not ever again.
What is it about this book that makes it special?
Once upon a long time ago, a
young girl watched a fascinating documentary about the strange
disappearances in an oceanic area called “The Bermuda Triangle.” Disappearances
that have been documented for centuries. Over the years various scientists have
theorized what caused these disappearances. Many believed these missing ships
and planes were simply at the bottom of the sea due to magnetic or electrical
forces and perhaps even pilot error. They theorize these vessels might
possibly, one day, be found. However, no one really knows for sure. We only
know that according to more modern transcripts the pilots were lost, confused
and terrified. They were pleading for help while noting that none of their
instruments were functioning properly. They had no idea the direction they were
going…
Then one day, many years later, the young girl grew up and
came across a vivid painting that depicted a violent storm over the sea. Lightning
lit up the sky while crashing into the water below. Waves heaved beyond all
normal bounds. As she gazed at the painting, memories of the documentary
returned as did some interesting true accounts she had read over the years of
what various pilots experienced for themselves while going through The Bermuda
Triangle. Her imagination took flight.
Heart of the Storm was born…
Heart of the Storm is a story with a mix of fantasy and
paranormal elements alongside reality. The hero of this tale, a 17th
century sea captain who is still very much alive, has had experiences I would
die to have. Most importantly? He can answer the vexing question of what really
happens when planes and ships disappear in the Bermuda Triangle during a storm.
When he meets a modern day DEA agent during one such tumultuous storm, we have
a story you might not find on book store shelves every day. Perhaps that makes
this story a bit special after all.

Word Count: 78500
Tagline: Some secrets are meant to stay buried.
Book Description
My job? I hunt ghosts. Not to prove they exist—because I already know they do—but to figure out why they’re still here.
My first big case leads me to a mansion on the Chicago Gold Coast, the previous home of a wealthy socialite who lived there until she accidentally fell to her death in 1927.
I’ve never been this determined—and excited—to solve a case like this one before. Pity I’m forced to work alongside a man whose sole purpose is to debunk paranormal activity. But the worst part? He’s gorgeous, and the more we work together, the more I realize I might be falling for him.
Together we’re delving deeper and deeper into the spiritual world. But the more secrets we uncover, the more pissed off these ghosts become; and that’s when I start to realize…we might be in way over our heads.
Excerpt:
Looking once
again across the table at Jason, she noticed he was listening to his two-way
radio.
“I’ll go check
it out,” Trudy heard him say as he excused himself.
“Is everything
all right?” Paul started to rise from the dinner table.
“Everything is
fine. Sit and relax. I have to go and check one of the cameras.” Jason slipped
from the room.
Trudy caught up
to him at the base of the stairs. “What’s going on?”
He looked at her
warily. “One of the cameras on the third floor caught the door of your room
slamming shut.”
“Oh, I left it
open for the dog when I came down to dinner.”
“Jasmine?” He
raised a questioning brow as he referred to the golden retriever who was sound
asleep under the dining table.
“No.” She bit
her lip and tried not to laugh at his puzzled expression. “I left it open for
the other dog that was whining and scratching at my door.”
“Oh, I see, the
imaginary one,” he quipped, climbing the stairs two at a time. Trudy was almost
at a sprint to keep up, careful not to slip in her high heels. They finally
reached the third floor. The air was so thick that Trudy could barely move her
legs and felt the hair on the back of her neck rising in warning.
“Shhh. Did you
hear that?” A door slammed from inside her room.
“What the hell
was that?” Jason said as he reached for the door, looking down at her.
“It’s probably
just a little mouse,” she said, causing him to frown down at her before slowly
turning the knob.
They entered the
room as quietly as possible, and a blast of frigid air struck them. Jason
reached over to flip the switch for the light. Everything was normal. They
quickly searched the room for any signs of a disturbance. The room was just as
she left it, and the door to the bathroom was open as before. She couldn’t
figure out what made the slamming noise that they heard.
“Uh, were you
typing an email earlier?” Jason asked, looking at her laptop.
“Oh, yeah, to my
mom. I forgot.”
“You better take
a look at this.”
Trudy looked at
the screen and saw her email was
still up. She
had written, “Hi, Mom. We’re at the house. All is well. Please...” That was
where she stopped when she’d been interrupted by a phone call, and that was
where it looked like the email went wild with,
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGGGGGG
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.”
The two letters
repeated the whole way down the page. “How is that possible?” she questioned.
“Maybe your keys
are stuck.” He bent down to get a better look at the keys then tapped them to
see if they were sticking.
“Please, there’s
nothing wrong with the keys. Someone was playing.”
“Who?”
She rolled her
eyes. “I’m not talking about a human.”
“You think a
ghost did this?” Humor danced around his mouth as he tried to keep from
smiling.
“Well, it
certainly could be a possibility, and it is the reason we’re here.”
“Not we, you.
I’m here to look at things rationally.”
“Rationally...really?”
She was irritated, folding her arms over her chest and glaring at him. “What
was rational about the events that led us into this room? And for the love of
God, what was rational about what happened to you in the basement?”
Jason sat on the
bed, elbows on his knees, and looked down at the floor. “I don’t know, but I
plan to find out.”
She looked at
him for a moment and could almost feel his confusion. He was a bit lost in all
this chaos. She sat beside him and mimicked his pose. Trudy elbowed him on the
arm, and the simple touch sent a thrill racing through her body. “I guess we
have our work cut out for us.”
His gaze settled
on her half-smile. “At least it won’t be boring.”
Her heart did a
somersault. “Yeah, I don’t do well with boring.”
Feeling brazen,
she leaned over and planted a quick kiss on his mouth. His eyes widened in
surprise, and Trudy jumped up, grinning from ear to ear.
“Let’s go, Mr.
Young. They’re probably wondering what’s happened to us.” She was halfway out
the door.
Jason grabbed
her hand before she could reach the hall and spun her around. His lips claimed
hers before she could grasp what was happening. Trudy felt his hand on the
small of her back molding her to him, while his other hand gently held her
head. She felt a thrill like never before, and just as her knees started to
give out, he released her.
“Better hurry,
Gertrude. Wouldn’t want anyone to think you were trying to take advantage of me
in this here grand bedroom.” He smiled into her eyes, and once again she was
lost. She shook her head to clear it and get some control of her senses.
“We better go,
or I’ll be taking advantage of you.” She laughed, and he did too. She loved the
sound of it. She glanced over her shoulder. “I hope that damned camera of yours
was turned off.”
As they headed
out the door, Jason walking just behind her, he grimaced when he saw the red
light on the camera on and grunted, “Oh, shit.”
Ghost, Ghost And More Ghost.
Ghost, Ghost And More Ghost.
Hello, my name is Lori Zaremba, and I write paranormal
romance novels. Today I’d like to discuss the ghosts who love me and just like
to show up.
My grandpap passed away the summer after I graduated high
school. Before he got sick, one of our favorite things to do together was to
pick mushrooms in the woods. He showed up on a soggy day in October (perfect
mushroom picking weather.) He appeared in a suit and tie, but he was wearing
the boots he always wore in the woods. He smiled at me and held up a bag to
collect the mushrooms and just as quickly as he arrived he disappeared.
Mrs. Hill my Jitney
bus driver –go ahead laugh, I rode the short bus. She sat on my bed one night
and told me she wouldn’t be able to take me to school anymore. I told my mom
about her visit and imagine her surprise when the school called and said, my
mom, that Mrs. Hill had died in her sleep.
This one creep’s me out, but he is relevant. I call him the
cloaked one. Ever since I was little, I would feel a presence near my bed. So
intense I was fearful to open my eyes when I did brave it, the room and the
spirit were so shrouded in darkness, I was unable to see. The reason I call him
the cloaked one is because of one night when I was racing through my house. I
ran straight into him and surprised him. He let out a grunt at the hard
contact. I remember feeling satin under my cheek against a solid mass that
dissipated into something smooth and silky like a dress or a cloak before
turning into air. The weird thing is since I got my giant dog Jaxson, the
cloaked one hasn’t been around much, and since Jaxson sleeps at my feet, he
never stands by my bed. Ya gotta love a big dog.
There's also been Johnny the young spirit that messes with
my husband’s collection of die-cast cars, Margie who came with my antique sofa.
There’s also Chet who likes to grab my big toe that sticks out from the
blankets when I sleep. He thinks it’s funny; I hear him laughing. When he was
alive, Chet told me I had Fred Flintstone feet now that he’s gone that’s how he
lets me know it’s him.
These are some of the ghosts that I’ve encountered. Now tell
me about yours?
