Tuesday = Independence Hall

This is the actual "rising sun" chair that George Washington sat in.

Sunday = Eastern State Penitentiary

Went to prison today...as a guest. Visited Eastern State Penitentiary. Very depressing and spooky. Was not expecting it to be in the middle of the city!

Each cell had its own little open courtyard for the prisoner to enjoy the sunlight for 30 min. 2x a day. The whole issue with ESP is that every prisoner was kept in isolation.

Saturday = Lancaster County and the Amish

Another gorgeous day. Drove down to Lancaster County and the Township of Intercourse to see if I could catch a glimpse of a horse and buggy. I also visited the square where there are all sorts of shops.

Friday = Shanksville and the United 93 9/11 Memorial

It was a long, hard drive, and the weather was cold, blowy, and sometimes rainy, but I'm so glad I made the trip.  First is the long, black walkway, which is the "flight pattern" taken by the plane right before it crashed. The solitary boulder marks the resting place of where the plane crashed. The impact was so great, the plane and everyone on it were obliterated. A very solemn and sad place.

The wall of names.

Someone had tossed a folded flag inside the barrier.

Thursday = Amtrak to NYC

Took the Amtrak today to NYC to meet up with good friend and audiobook narrator Guy Veryzer. We had lunch at St. Bart's and coffee at Christie's. We also took in Rockefeller Center and NBC Studios. Navigating Penn Station and 30th St. Station in PA was an event! But the train ride was great!

Tripping to Philadelphia and Pennsylvania (and Points Beyond)

I'm in Philadelphia these next few days. Got a bucket list of things to do. So watch this space for more to come!
