Just read today's blog over on one of my favorite blogs, CAKE WRECKS.
The cakes decorated as books are awesome enough, but it was the remarks made by rapper Kanye West that just made me FUME! And this man is an inspiration and model for teens and young adults? Does he understand the term "hypocrisy"?
Check it out and see if you don't agree!

She was one of thirty-one aliens who escaped the slave ship where she had been kept captive for all of her life. Now she could live a quiet, peaceful existence on Earth, free from pain and misery. Or so she had hoped until the fateful night when she was caught in her true form. From that moment, Challa the Alien Girl became one of Lawson Hall’s best draws to his traveling sideshow carnival.
Compton Scott didn’t believe in aliens. He had enough on his plate without having to worry about being dragged out to some two-bit circus. Still, he got a kick out of the little freak show featuring the woman dressed in a green costume. But once he got home, she began to haunt his dreams and every waking minute.
It wasn’t long before Compton discovered the truth about the alien woman and his growing feelings for her. Unfortunately, Lawson Hall wasn’t about to give up his bread and butter without a fight.
Neither were the Arra.
***
I'll post more information as I receive it.
Stay tuned!

Dear Linda: Which character do you identify with the most?
Dear Linda,
I've always wondered ...which character out of all your books do you identify with the most? Or do you put some of your personality into each of the heroines? They always say, "Write what you know!"
Hmm, what an interesting question. I really put a little bit of myself in all my characters, but I think I identify most with Atty from THE BATTLE LORD'S LADY. She says and does what I have either done/said, or wished I could. :D

There's something about walking into a flower shop. Maybe it's the scent of budding blooms that overwhelms you when you first enter.

"The calla lilies are in bloom again. Such a strange flower - suitable to any occasion. I carried them on my wedding day, and now I place them here in memory of something that has died."

MY STRENGTH, MY POWER, MY LOVE is Now at Fictionwise, and 40% Off This Week Only!
My Strength, My Power, My Love, my sci-fi erotic romance novel, is now available at Fictionwise, and 40% Off This Week Only!
http://www.fictionwise.com/eBooks/eBook87302.htm?cache
Once in every one million births, a child is born on Bellac with the Synergistic gene. These children are taken from their parents and prepared for the day when they will find their Synergistic other half. For when that happens, an entirely new power is created--a power ready to protect and defend their home world.
Grey Dansis is a Synergian ready to find the male who will become her life-long partner. Unfortunately Grey has secretly harbored a longing for Rowe Maine. But the man is five years her senior and an Unmatched Synergian who has lost his chance to become one of the rare few empowered union mates.
When their world is attacked by marauders, Grey has no idea that Rowe is her fated other half. Or that the power that could come from their union would be the only force strong enough to save Bellac from complete annihilation.
They may never know because the law won't even let them touch.

Happy Mother's Day!
Kids' Views on Moms
Kids’ opinions – Why God made Mothers
Answers given by elementary-school aged children to the following questions:
Why did God make mothers?
1. She’s the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.
How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.
What ingredients are mothers made of?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men’s bones. Then they mostly usestring, I think.
Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?
1. We’re related.
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people’s moms like me.
What kind of little girl was your mother?
1. My mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don’t know because I wasn’t there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.
What did your mother need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?
Why did your mother marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my mom eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says that mom didn’t have her thinking cap on.
Who’s the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn’t want to be boss, but she has to because Dad’s such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.
What’s the difference between mothers and fathers?
1. Moms work at work and work at home. Dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller and stronger, but moms have all the real power ’cause that’s who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend’s.
4. Moms have magic; they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mother do in her spare time?
1. Moms don’t do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.
What would it take to make your mother perfect?
1. On the inside she’s already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet – You know…her hair. Maybe blue.
If you could change one thing about your mother, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I’d get rid of that.
2. I’d make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on her back.

Blurb:
What if you could take a picture of your true soulmate in life before you ever met her?
It was an innocent roll of film she found on the street. But when Jolee Wiley had it developed, hoping she might be able to find its owner from the pictures on it, she came face-to-face with a shocking impossibility.
Mike Owensby was an Archivist. A Dreams Keeper. The roll of film belonged to him. And the woman who found it may be the lover he had been seeking all his life.
