Use them as drink mats!If it's a paperback book you don't care to read again, but really like the cover, strip the cover from the book and get it laminated (teacher supply stores always have a laminator on site.)
Voila! And they stack/store so neatly, too!

I've done this especially when my books have gone yellow.
I have gone a step further and make laminated book marked and page dividers out of favourite pages of certain books.
Good post - nice to see the green effect taking hold everywhere.
