Her world had sent her into space to die. Now it wants her back to make sure she does.

Six months after Sah'Reena's arrival, a strange object crash lands on Earth. A device she's positive came from her home planet, Murrall. At the same time, NASA scientists discover a strange new body orbiting the sun exactly opposite of Earth. It's only when a Deathship appears close to the Johnson Space Center in Houston that she and Robin learn the truth: Murrall was caught up in the same anomaly as her space pod, and has been brought into this solar system.

Once again her life is in jeopardy as her planet wants her back to fulfill the original death sentence placed upon her. But when Robin travels back to Murrall to present himself as her true mate, and to ask them to spare her life, they witness the horrible devastation caused when the planet was ripped from its galaxy.

Knowing it may be his only chance to save the woman he loves, Robin offers a possible solution to save both Sah'Reena and her dying world. But first, he has to prove to everyone that he and the woman he’s taken to wife are compatible by undergoing a proving ceremony.

Regardless of the outcome, one man is determined to see the powerful Gifted dead, no matter what the cost.

Warning: Contains rock slides, paint balls, arrogant men in high positions of authority, alien food, see-through tents, skimpy uniforms, in-laws, and a transference of power that shocks both Robin and the woman he loves - a woman who may be the most dangerous creature in the universe.

As the youngest Battle Prince, Lucien D'Jacques is discouraged because the affinities with weapons that his siblings have shown aren't showing up in him. Being half-Mutah, that little something extra should be a given, but he's no better than the average Normal soldier.

Meanwhile, the Damaged are back and slowly taking over. After receiving word that neighboring compounds are suffering, Lucien is tapped by his parents, Yulen and Atty, the Battle Lord and Lady of Alta Novis, to accompany them on a rescue mission to Green River. Now would be a great time for those specialties to shine, especially after he encounters another half-Mutah warrior huntress named Johna, whose eyes can look deep into his soul.

When fighting an invisible enemy, it's almost impossible to tell who is friend or foe. But if left unchecked, that enemy could wipe out all Mutah. It's up to the D'Jacques, with the help of their army and newfound allies, to defeat the Bloods and stop the spread of the maddening disease before it's too late.

Warning! Contains sneezing, tainted blood, mutant insects, rabid bats, a diabolical plan, a fake battle lord, a haunted compound, and one man trying to prove himself, as well as protect the woman he's come to love, as they struggle to survive.

Six on Sunday - MY BATTLE LORD'S PASSION, The Battle Lord Saga, Book 9

Six paragraphs from MY BATTLE LORD'S PASSION, The Battle Lord Saga, Book 9.

1. “Because Mattox just killed one that had managed to get inside Misty’s crib.” The battle lord held up his hand, fingers spread. “Damn thing was as big as my hand. Fortunately he managed to plunge a knife into it before it reached her. I dread to think what kind of bite that thing must have.” A shudder went through him at the thought of the creature feasting on his daughter.

2. “No, it hasn’t, because Atty never came into my life here. Or, if she had, the other me was too enmeshed in his hatred of all things Mutah that he overlooked her. It was due in part to Liam’s guidance that she and I…” He raked his fingers through his hair. “I guess, when Liam died, that’s when all that changed. That’s where my present and this present split, like a fork in the road.”

3.  “My real reason for coming down here is two-fold. I intend to free you. Hopefully. Eventually. But it has to be done in a way that will not cause any problems with my people. Tosh Karv is on the verge of trying to overthrow me, and claim Alta Novis as his. If he succeeds…you know his first order of business will be to have you all killed. Which is why this has to be done gradually. Unfortunately, I won’t have a lot of time do what I hope to do. I’m going to have to go back to those caverns in a few days. I’m going to go back with the announced intent of making sure we’ve eradicated the spiders, or at least caused enough damage to prevent them from invading us and other compounds in the future.

4. D’Jacques sat back in the chair and let out a big sigh. “At first, when they started telling me their stories, I thought it was to educate me. Like I was someone who’d been in a deep coma, and they needed to bring me up to speed on what’s been happening while I was out of it. Then, after a while, they weren’t so much as trying to reeducate me as it had turned into some sort of grand party. We were a bunch of guys sitting around a table, in front of a fire, sipping our ales and beers. We were reminiscing about the good times, and the bad times, and the times when it seemed all hope was lost until Atty and I brought everyone through the fire.” He studied the man who was studying him. “Liam, in my present, I never met Atty. After we torched that compound and rounded up those Mutah who looked decent enough not to upset my people here, we came back home. We held your funeral, and I’ve never stopped grieving over your loss. You were…are my surrogate father.”

5. Atty wrapped her arms herself as she kept a smile pasted on her face. She wasn’t cold, but she felt no warmth. Every word he spoke, and every gesture he made confirmed him to be Yulen D’Jacques. He wasn’t her Yulen, but he was. He was everything her Yulen was, but without the scars or the experiences they’d endured and survived. And she knew his body intimately. His love filled her veins. Their passion flowed through her bloodstream. She couldn’t breathe without him, yet somehow her body was managing to get by without his presence pillowing her heart. She was surviving, but she wasn’t alive.

6. Atty sighed and walked away. He watched her head back to where the caulking was being mixed. For a second he almost called out to her, reached out to her. By some miracle he stopped himself short. Yes, she was Atty, but not his Atty. To him, any attempt to touch her, hold her, or kiss her would be a betrayal to his wife.

Narrated by Rhett Samuel Price
Length: 4 hrs, 43 min.

The earth is being destroyed, and the mortal population decimated, all in an attempt for the old gods to become relevant again. Eons ago, Zeus and the gods captured the four demi-gods of the elements—air, earth, fire and water. Now the minor gods have been let loose and are being forced to wreak havoc on the planet.

Meris, half-god of the water, doesn’t enjoy throwing tsunamis and flooding coastal towns and villages, destroying islands and taking lives, but he and his brothers must do as they’re told or risk being imprisoned again, possibly forever. Which none of them would survive a second time.

The life of a teacher isn’t full of glamour and world travels, so when offered a free trip to Hawaii in exchange for Maid of Honor duties for her best friend, Roby McDaniel jumps at the chance. What was supposed to be an elegant dinner cruise full of wine and fine dining quickly ends in tragedy when a giant wave appears from out of nowhere and capsizes the boat. Roby manages to stay afloat, unable to comprehend the destruction happening in front of her eyes, but the giant rising out of the ocean? That she really has trouble wrapping her head around.

Normally unseen by mortals unless he wills it, Meris is surprised when Roby calls out to him, and he cannot turn his back on the mortal begging to be saved. She’s beautiful, brave, special, and meant for him. But after causing the deaths of her friends, can he convince her he’s not the heartless monster she thinks he is?

With Poseidon missing, the remaining gods are biding their time until they can trap the Primordials again, but now they need to locate the god of the sea. They are certain that capturing and torturing the mortal women Meris and his brothers are protecting will give them the answers they seek.

Warning! Contains scenes of mass destruction, one woman's shoe, chains, the car wash of desire, steamed fish, derelicts, a bright red shirt, and one demi-god willing to give his life to protect the woman who loves him.

Excerpt:

She got her keys out of her jacket pocket then exited the home onto the porch. Before going down the steps, she stopped. A shiver coursed through her body; the same feeling as when one was being watched. She peered down the street and saw nothing amiss. Same thing for across and the other side.
Her gut swirled, telling her to turn around. The tree across the street looked different, but she couldn’t quite figure out why. Its leaves and branches stirred in an unnatural way, seeming to dance on their own against the breeze.  Every hair on her body stood up at once. The deep silence bothered her—no crickets chirped, nor owls hooted, and there was no sway of the trees or tall grass; the night was calm. She decided to get the book then go inside. After unlocking the car with her key fob, she opened the car door, stretching her arm over and into the back seat.
“Where are you?” she mumbled.
She didn’t see it moving all around, whatever it was. Given the surrounding movement, undoubtedly it wasn’t just one.  The tree trunks seemed to come alive as the tall grass across the street shifted. Silent like shadows, they moved, staying just enough out of sight. Kristy found the book underneath the front seat.
She got out of the car then scanned nearby her. Nothing. Kristy hurriedly closed the car door and turned toward the porch. She peeked over her shoulder. An involuntary gasp escaped her. Shadows darted toward her. She got to the steps and froze. Her eyes widened, and her heart pounded in her chest. The pit of her stomach churned. Not shadows, animals. She could now hear the low growls from the animals around her. But what were they?
She blinked and, just like that, a man stood in front of her. He wasn’t wearing any clothes and had a gleam shimmering in his eyes.
She wanted to scream, but the man caught her attention.
“Uh uh uh,” he said as he put his finger to his lips and then in one breathe, he whispered, “Shhhhhhh.”
His fingernail was long and black with a slight curve at the tip. The man grinned, with glowing eyes and wild should-length hair, but he had a trimmed beard. A voice inside her head was screaming to run as she frantically looked for an escape. Her adrenaline pumped as she saw a chance to get away and tried to take it but before she could do anything, something grabbed her from behind and clenched her tight, it was difficult to breathe. The man neared and stopped, only inches away.
In a harsh, low tone, he said, “If you struggle, it will take less than a second for him to squeeze the life out of you. Don’t.”

What is it about this book that makes it special?

I think it’s a number of things for the series overall. For one its about family.  Although my story is set in a paranormal world, I think when it comes to family, it transcends worlds.  You still have to deal with what families go through; new life, death, marriage, dating, etc. Additionally, to tell this story from Evaline’s point a view, a strong and independent woman, makes us relate.  I wanted the story to have a suspense and mystery that would keep my readers interested. As Evaline finds answers and opens up new mysteries, it keeps the readers guessing. Thirdly, the romance is definitely there but what makes it different is that Evaline wasn’t looking for it.  It just happened just as it does in this life many times. Her bond with Mason is on fact a sweeping love but its also not what drives the story.  Evaline’s search for the truth is but now she has a strong love helping her get those answers. More specific to this book, Bloodlines, which is book two in the Albion Moon Chronicles, we see Evaline adjusting to her new life, how the old threat is still very much there and her bond with Mason is stronger than ever.  Book two carries the same suspense and thrills but to another level. Its about confrontation and revelation so there are many heart-pounding moments as well as a few heart-breaking ones. Where book one was a lot of world building and setting the stage for what is to come, this book is off and running with Evaline’s new life and what else she discovers. One of the highlights is when Evaline is able to show readers how Mason and his family came to be.  So, there are time jumps within the first three chapters or so.  Along with this aspect in addition to several others, I think readers will enjoy where she takes us and introduces what is potentially coming later on.

About the Author:

Nothing captures the attention of M.L. Mastran more than writing a good story with amazing characters and a history arc that made the history books. This is the Albion Moon Chronicles in every sense.

On the flip side, M.L. can also journey to another world completely and pull the same elements with fantasy and make the reader yearn for more. Her uncanny ability to blend genres makes her unique to the literary world and an absolute reading joy. From the first moment you open the page, curiosity will pull you in and keep you engrossed in the story as you take the voyage with the characters to different places and times; to experience the events as they unfold.

Whether being told from a one character perspective or several points of view, her stories will unfold in your mind like a movie playing in your head. This is what pushes M.L to write her stories. It’s the thrill of the read and the drive to carry readers away that will make this trip to the literary world of imagination all the sweeter.

M. L. was born in Scranton Pennsylvania but was raised in Youngstown, Ohio, which is also where she currently resides with her husband and son.  Since a young age, she has always had a passion for storytelling.  Anything that was of interest to her she could find a story with however, it was her stories of experiences such as walking in an old cemetery, to riding a roller coaster to walking the lonely isles of an old junk yard that seemed the most precious.

M. L. has an undergraduate degree in Communication but also majored in History, which is what her Master’s Degree is in as well.  She also started on her PHD in History.  This love of history is very evident in most of M. L.’s stories. While studying for both degrees, she wrote numerous works for the academic audience.  Many of which were presented and published for both student and professional audiences, but at home she would continue to dabble with her love of fiction.  It was the challenge of creating a new world and characters that would make for some great stories.  In fact, she found out very quickly, strong characters drive the story and make it worth the journey.
